Partial Care Day Program

This program operates from 8:30am - 4:00pm

The partial care day program is intended to help children avoid hospitalization or extended inpatient stay. Typically, these children have had histories of psychiatric hospitalization, residential treatment, or are at risk for such. This population of children require intensive care to remain active in their communities and do not require 24-hour supervision.

When hospitalization is not necessary or no longer required, but outpatient services are too limited, Partial care may be appropriate. This program allows the child to return home each day after treatment, and begin transitioning to everyday living situations and challenges. These structured programs provide children with short-term treatment that is tailored to their level of functioning.

The partial care day program provides an intensive therapeutic environment for children and adolescents. Throughout the day many therapeutic services are offered to the children. Lunch and snacks are provided throughout the day. Transportation is available for children within 30 miles of Fairfield, NJ. Academic education is also provided, as approved by the home school district.

The partial care day program is typically used to help child return to the community with support and continuity. The program is intended to support the child and provide stabilization of behaviors before reintegrating back into the community.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is scheduled throughout the course of the day in order to address the areas of difficulty and concern for each youth. These groups cover a range of therapeutic interventions including; TF-CBT, DBT, art therapy, play therapy and psychoeducation.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is an important part of the program as it is a way for the child to receive one on one specialized services in order to address the challenges and conflict each child may face. Individual therapy is a way to provide the child with the skills and tools they need in order to thrive in the community, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.

Family Therapy

Families are required to participate in the intervention. It is an important aspect of the program as the family dynamic directly affect children in their environment. This may look different for each family depending on the needs of the child and will be established as part of the treatment plan.
